I will emphasize particularly the following fact– there has been no such prize in the whole world before.The international Prize “Global Energy” was intended and created as an award for the new Millennium. I think it is very symbolic and natural that it was established on the initiative of Russia – one of the recognized leaders in the world energetic market. A country which has a vast experience of international cooperation in this field.
We are living in the era when the aims standing in front of mankind are of a universal, global character. They can be solved effectively only when the intellectual and technological potentials of the world’s community are united.
One of the most acute problems of the present day is the energy supply for the world economy and for the population of our planet. In this respect more efficient ways of using energy resources should be looked for. They should, first of all, be more efficient from an ecological point of view.
An important task is to find alternative energy sources. They play an important role for civilization of tomorrow .
Besides, a global energetic dialogue is able to contribute to a dynamic economic growth and to the solving of sharp social problems. The key role in the development of such a dialogue belongs, of course, to the people of science.
The International Energetic Prize is directed to support and stimulate research which is vitally important for mankid.
I am sure that the “Global Energy” Prize will always keep its prestige at a high level. And its laureates will contribute to the development of the International energetic dialogue and will strengthen the cooperation of scientists in the name of progress and world economic growth”.
